Czech Republic Settlement Scheme for UK citizens after Brexit

Due to the forthcoming deadline of possible „No-Deal Brexit“, we would like to remind you of the significant impacts on your employees – citizens of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland. In case the so called „No-Deal Brexit“ (i.e. no agreement between UK and EU) comes to the date of 31 October 2019, then all these citizens will lose the status of EU citizens and will stay in the territory of the Czech Republic illegally with a risk of possible expulsion from the Czech Republic. Therefore we recommend without any delay that these employees would apply for at least a Certificate of Temporary Residence in the territory of the Czech Republic no later than by the end of 31 October 2019, where they get - through this application – the residence title in the Czech Republic.

Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the so called A1 forms for the purpose of social and health insurance will cease to be valid with immediate effect to the date of 1 November 2019. All these employees will have to tackle the question of the insurance in the Czech Republic and also in The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland in duplicate.
