Curfew and restrictions to personal contact

People will have to observe a night curfew between 11 pm and 5 am with exception of work commuting and other essential travel.

Other measures are re-introduced again such as non-essential contact with other people has been prohibited; people will only be allowed to go to work and to make necessary family visits or to make essential purchases. A company of more than six people is prohibited (except for members of a family) inside and outside.

People are allowed to visit the countryside or parks. No more than six people will be allowed to gather.

Ban on the drinking of alcoholic beverages in publicly accessible places.

Shops and restaurants

Shops and services will be allowed to remain open (incl. on Sundays) with strict hygiene measures in place. Newly, restaurants, pubs, swimming pools, museums, and hotels will have to be closed from Friday 18 December.

It will be possible to sell takeaway food through the windows.

Free antigen testing in the Czech Republic

Free antigen testing for Covid-19 got underway in the Czech Republic on Wednesday 16 December, however, it is only for people with Czech public health insurance card (EU insurance card is not accepted)
